Evergreen Presbyterian Church will have it's 13th  annual Kirkin' of the Tartans service on Sunday, October 30th.  The Kirkin service begins at 11 am, with dinner on the grounds immediately after.  The Wolf River Pipe and Drums Band will be there to pipe the service.

Come celebrate your Northern European heritage at this oldest of European festivals honoring our ancestors and Sunna (the sun) at her greatest power.  It is the longest day of the year and nature’s furnace is at full throttle. After this day the days will shorten and Sunna’s might will gradually weaken, eventually ushering in the cold death grip of the frost giants and winter. But on this day we rejoice in Sunna’s gift of life!

Activities include Organic pig roast,  Celtic spear throw, axe throw and stone throw(prize awarded to the overall winner), live Scottish bagpipe playing,  Jeffrey Moore of Clan Muir, second degree black Belt in Korean martial arts, will present a axe and knife self defense workshop, Viking game of Kuub, children’s games and storytelling, lectures on folkish Asatru in the 21st century by Patrick Opitz(gazebo near creek) , indo European galdoring by Michael Gast, Esq. ancient ceremony in Anglo Saxon and Norse to Sunna in standing stone circle, burning of giant sunwheel, sumbel(ancient drinking rite),  Women’s workshop on seidr with Olivia Dawkins  at firepit near waterfall.

On the 25th September 2010, AD, the Southern Region of the Clan Cumming Society USA represented our great Society at Clan Jamfry held at Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Mid-town, Memphis, Tennessee.  This event in Memphis continues to grow.  Several clans were in attendance.  Also, the Memphis Scottish Society, Sottish American Military Society and Wolf River Pipes and Drums were in attendance.  Several folks with ties to our great Clan learned of their rich heritage and applications were given out with encouragement to join.  Also, an informal meeting of the Southern Region was held since this is the largest gathering of our region's membership.  Regional members are encouraged to attend next year's Clan Jamfry, if possible.  Anyone else in the Southern Region that is interested in hosting a Regional Meeting or who would ike to be more involved in Your Region is encouraged to contact your Regional Commissioner.  God bless Clan Cumming!

Clan Cumming was represented on 11 September 2010, AD, at a Maryland Division Sons of Confederate Veterans Honour Guard service.  Mr Elliott Cummings is seen with Clan Cumming Tartan fifth from the left.  Mr Cummings has done much in the Maryland area to promote Clan Cumming for years.

Dear Folks,

These are photos from the Clan Jamfry, the Memphis, Tennessee, annual Scottish Festival.  A good time was had by all.  Old acquaintances renewed and new ones made.  Our family really enjoys this event.   It was a pleasure this year to once again see fellow Clan Cumming Society USA member Mr Leonard Cobb.  God bless.

My Birthday fell on the main day of the event, September 26th.  Caramel cake was enjoyed by all.
